Will This Float?, the entrepreneurial pitch competition where individuals have minutes to present their idea, convince judges of its viability and win over the audience returns to The Company Lab (Co.lab) on Thursday, February 23. Building on the success of last year’s event, Enoch Elwell, Connector at Co.lab, says “We want to celebrate the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of Chattanooga’s startup community, as well as identify talented innovators and connect them with the resources they need to move their idea from concept to reality.”
Events like this don’t happen everyday in Chattanooga, but they are becoming more prevalent. The highly targeted audience will include aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs, potential co-founders, team members, mentors, and investors–all looking to help get innovative ideas started. If this sounds like the type of crowd you’d like to mingle with, then this is the event to attend.
The local startup community is growing stronger by the day as experienced specialists, mentors, and investors offer time and talent to help Chattanooga’s newest businesses grow and thrive. Last year’s winner, Derrick Nathan, successfully launched his company, Supply Hog and has gone through multiple levels of funding. This Thursday, the next generation of Chattanooga’s innovators will present, and they need your help with connections, expertise, mentorship, and capital.
